Project Invest in Ability (Projeto Investir na Capacidade – PIC)

The Pedrouços PIC is organized weekly in the Pedrouços School Grouping since the 2017/2018 school year, aimed at students in primary school. The head school of the school grouping is a TPEI (Territory of Priority Education Intervention) school and welcomed the project with awareness/training for head teachers, who subsequently identified students who, in their contexts, stood out significantly in comparison with their age group. After the explanation provided to the families, the students attended the activities at the head school of the school grouping, monitored by several volunteer teachers in the areas of Sciences, Expressions and Humanities and under the coordination of two teachers of the Grouping.

In 2018/2019 the PIC was continued with similar structure and logistics, although it was extended to students of the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education, which led to the identification of other students with high abilities by the head teachers. The thirteen students participated in various activities, under the main theme “Wings to Fly”, with the participation and contribution of the families in certain activities/meetings.
