Program Different Saturdays (Programa Sábados Diferentes)
The Different Saturdays Program is an Enrichment Program directed to Children with Superior Abilities and Talents, which began in 1994 and was created by the Portuguese Association for Gifted Children in partnership with the School of Education of Paula Frassinetti. Its objectives are:
1. To develop in children with superior abilities:
– their potential
– social interaction with fellow peers
– their creativity
– their emotional maturity
– their motor skills;
2. Provide support and training to parents and teachers;
3. To contribute to the scientific study of the theme;
4. To raise the awareness of Portuguese society to the educational needs of these children.
The activities take place weekly, in various spaces in Porto, and are developed according to these subjects: Sciences, Humanities, Arts and Expressions, as well as Parent Training.
